Machinist / Rim Technician We are looking for an experienced and motivated Machinist / Rim Technician to join our Muswellbrook workshop team. Main Duties

About the Role As a Machinist / Rim Technician, you will be responsible for the repair, refurbishment, machining, modification, and manufacture of heavy vehicle and earthmoving wheel rims. Working within a well equipped workshop, you will ensure all work meets company quality standards, customer specifications, and industry safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Repair, refurbish, modify, and machine tyre wheel rims to required specifications.
- Set up and operate manual and CNC machining equipment (where applicable).
- Perform precision machining, fitting, fabrication, and finishing work.
- Conduct welding repairs and fabrication
- Inspect and assess rims for structural integrity, wear, and damage.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and measurements.
- Comply with all workplace health and safety policies, procedures, and company standards.
- Work collaboratively with the workshop team to meet production targets and customer deadlines.





Qualifications

About You To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Certificate III in Engineering Mechanical, Fitting & Machining, or equivalent trade qualification
- Minimum 3–5 years' experience in machining, heavy engineering, fabrication, or a similar workshop environment.
- Experience operating manual lathes, and machining equipment (CNC experience is advantageous).
- MIG welding experience, with fabrication and repair skills highly regarded.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality workmanship.
- A strong understanding of workplace health and safety practices.
- Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) experience or qualifications will be highly regarded.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, a reliable work ethic, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
