About the role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Administrator to support the accurate, timely and compliant delivery of payroll services for Legacy employees. Reporting to the Chief Finance Officer, this permanent part-time role is responsible for end-to-end payroll processing, timesheet review, employee payroll records and payroll-related reporting.
You will use Employment Hero, Microsoft 365 and Legacy’s related business systems to keep payroll information accurate, confidential and well controlled. Working closely with Finance, People and Culture, managers and employees, you will support compliant payroll processes across legislation, industrial instruments, taxation, superannuation and reporting requirements.

Key Responsibilities (Including but not limited to)
Process accurate and timely end-to-end fortnightly payroll through Employment Hero.
Ability or willingness to utilise AI for payroll governance
Maintain payroll and employee data, including onboarding, offboarding, salary, FTE, work pattern, leave, superannuation, tax and banking details.
Review and validate timesheets, leave, additional hours, allowances, overtime and other payroll variations before each pay run.
Calculate and process adjustments, back pays, pay increases, contract variations, termination payments and other employee entitlements.
Administer leave entitlements, salary packaging changes, government Paid Parental Leave, superannuation contributions and other payroll-related benefits or deductions.
Prepare, lodge and reconcile payroll-related obligations including Single Touch Payroll, PAYG withholding, superannuation, workers compensation, Portable Long Service Leave and year-end reporting.
Prepare payroll reports, reconciliations and data analysis for Finance, People & Culture, managers and auditors.
Respond to payroll, timesheet and leave enquiries in a timely, accurate and confidential manner.
Maintain accurate payroll documentation and records across Employment Hero, Microsoft 365 and Legacy’s related business systems.
Advance level of experience using Employment Hero including integration and configuration knowledge and competency.
Detailed working knowledge of the SCHADS Award minimum 3 years experience.
Payroll Governance proven track record with ability to develop core Payroll KPI for compliance and risk management.
Experience in developing innovative and AI solutions for Payroll Reporting.
Demonstrated experience in payroll processing, payroll administration or a closely related finance or HR administration role.
Sound understanding of payroll processes, timesheets, leave, superannuation, taxation,
payroll reporting and employee entitlements.
Ability to interpret and apply employment contracts, industrial instruments, policies and payroll-related legislative requirements within the scope of the role.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to identify payroll discrepancies, maintain reliable records and meet payroll deadlines.
Proficient use of Microsoft 365, particularly Excel, Outlook, Word and Teams, to support payroll processing, reporting, communication and record keeping, including the ability to use formulas, filters, reconciliations and payroll reports accurately.
Well-developed organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise work, manage competing deadlines and maintain clear payroll processes.
Qualified communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to respond to employee and manager enquiries accurately, respectfully and confidentially.
Demonstrated ability to handle confidential employee, payroll and organisational information with discretion, care and integrity.
Highly regarded
Experience processing payroll in the community services, aged care, health, disability, veterans’ support, charity or not-for-profit sector.
Experience with salary packaging, Portable Long Service Leave, workers compensation, superannuation clearing houses, Single Touch Payroll and year-end payroll processes.
Experience working with CRM, document management or finance systems that support payroll, employee records or organisational reporting.
