About the role:

We are excited to offer opportunities for Emerging Future Shapers to join Orica’s Summer Internship Program in Melbourne within our Technology & Innovation team.

The available placements support Robotics and 2-Way Strategy work. These opportunities bring together technical, legal, commercial and scientific perspectives to support the responsible development and application of current ideas.

You may contribute to robotics research, prototyping and testing or support multidisciplinary strategy work involving business, legal, engineering and science considerations.

The internships will be based in Melbourne, with placements aligned to project requirements and relevant academic backgrounds.

What you will be doing:

Robotics

- Support research, prototyping, testing and analysis for robotics initiatives.
- Assist with data collection, technical documentation and the evaluation of test outcomes.
- Work collaboratively with engineers and researchers to identify practical improvements.
- Apply safe working practices throughout laboratory, workshop and project activities.

2-Way Strategy

- Support research and analysis for 2-Way Strategy projects.
- Assist with stakeholder inputs, documentation and the assessment of business, legal and technical considerations.
- Prepare clear project materials, summaries and recommendations to support decision-making.




- Collaborate across business, legal, engineering and science disciplines to support project priorities.

What you will bring:

- For Robotics: currently completing Robotics, Mechatronics, Automation, Engineering or a related technical qualification.
- For 2-Way Strategy: currently completing Law or Business; candidates with an Engineering or Science background will also be considered.
- An interest in innovation, emerging technology and multidisciplinary problem-solving.
- Strong analytical, communication and organisational skills.
- The confidence to ask questions, share ideas and learn from people with different areas of expertise.
- A commitment to safety, inclusion and respectful ways of working.
- Availability to participate for the full Summer Internship Program period and to work from the advertised location.
