Pay Rate: $600 - $650 per day + super (depending on experience)

A NSW Government initiative driving one of Australia's largest and most impactful climate change and sustainability programs is seeking an experienced Product Designer to lead the redesign of a critical rating tool. This role sits at the heart of migrating the agencies legacy waste rating tool onto a up-to-date Salesforce platform. This is a high-ownership role, taking a complex, technical product from initial design through to delivery, working within a small, collaborative, design-led team.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the UI and functional redesign of the Waste rating tool, migrating it from a legacy system onto the Salesforce cloud platform, with ownership of the project from the first design phase
- Participate in design sprints, applying Perform Figma Design System to produce low to high-fidelity wireframes and prototypes
- Incorporate complex technical rating rules and requirements into research and design decisions




- Test designs and prototypes with users, including building assessors
- Write functional user stories in Jira for the development team and document design decisions and rationale in Confluence
- Partner with the Design Manager, Business Analyst and development team to shape research strategy and deliver against agreed scope and priorities

Essential Skills & Experience

- Minimum 3-4 years of Product Design experience, with demonstrated ability to work across complex products or systems involving multiple user types, business rules, approvals and cross-functional stakeholder requirements
- Proficient Figma skills, particularly in using and creating components within an established design system
- Outcomes-focused approach, with experience using research and testing findings to inform design decisions
- Previous experience or interest in Salesforce cloud platforms is highly regarded
- Previous experience in the built environment or sustainability sector is an advantage
