Prime Maintenance Projects is seeking an experienced Commercial Painter to join our growing team in a permanent, full-time position based exclusively at one of Melbourne's most prestigious hospitals.

This is a unique opportunity to work within a skilled facilities maintenance environment where quality workmanship, attention to detail, and customer service are highly valued. You'll become part of an established onsite team responsible for maintaining one of Victoria's leading healthcare facilities.

About the Role

This position is primarily focused on commercial painting (approximately 80%), including planned maintenance, refurbishment works, and reactive repairs throughout the hospital campus.

The remaining 20% of the role will involve supporting the onsite maintenance team with general handyman duties during painting downtime, ensuring the facility continues to operate efficiently and safely.

No two days are the same, with works ranging from patient areas and offices through to plant rooms, back-of-house facilities, and public spaces.

Key Responsibilities





- Internal and external commercial painting.
- Surface preparation, patching, plaster repairs, sanding, filling and finishing.
- High-quality paint application using brush, roller and spray equipment.
- Colour matching and maintaining premium presentation standards.
- Planned and reactive maintenance painting.
- Minor plastering and surface rectification.
- Assisting with general handyman and building maintenance tasks when required.
- Working safely within a live hospital environment.
- Maintaining compliance with site inductions, infection control procedures and safety requirements.
- Identifying maintenance defects and reporting larger repair requirements.
- Delivering exceptional customer service while working alongside hospital staff and facilities management teams.

About You

We're looking for someone who takes genuine pride in their workmanship and understands the importance of professionalism when working in occupied commercial environments.

You’ll ideally possess:

- Proven commercial painting experience.
- Experience working within hospitals, healthcare, commercial buildings or large facilities (highly regarded).
- Strong preparation and finishing skills.
- Experience completing plaster patching and minor repairs.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage your workload.
- Strong attention to detail.




- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Current White Card.
- Current Australian Driver's Licence.
- Ability to obtain a Working With Children Check and Police Check.
- A positive attitude and willingness to assist the wider maintenance team.
