BAL 1 Constructions is seeking an experienced Balustrade Installer/Subcontractor to join our team on a full time basis based in Melbourne, VIC 3000. This is a critical role within our building trades division, where you will be responsible for the professional installation of high-quality balustrades across a variety of residential and commercial projects. Your expertise and attention to detail will be essential in maintaining our reputation for delivering excellence in construction solutions. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects whilst contributing directly to the success of BAL 1 Constructions.

Key responsibilities

- Install balustrades to specification on residential and commercial building projects, ensuring compliance with building codes and safety standards
- Measure, cut and fabricate balustrade components with precision to meet project requirements
- Prepare surfaces and structures prior to installation, including levelling and securing mounting points
- Liaise with project managers and other tradespeople to ensure seamless integration of balustrade work within project timelines
- Conduct quality checks on completed installations to ensure they meet contractual specifications and safety requirements
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations and best practices
- Use and maintain hand tools and power tools appropriately and safely
- Troubleshoot and resolve installation challenges, providing practical solutions on site
- Maintain detailed records of work completed and materials used on each project

What we’re looking for

- Proven experience as a balustrade installer or in a related building trades role, with a minimum of 3-5 years in the industry
- Strong knowledge of balustrade systems, materials and installation techniques including glass, aluminium, steel and timber options
- Proficiency with hand and power tools,



and ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- A current Victorian Building Permit holder or equivalent relevant licence/certification
- Sound understanding of building codes, safety standards and WorkSafe regulations applicable to balustrade installation
- Ability to work independently and as part of a larger construction team
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality workmanship
- Reliable transport and flexibility to work on multiple project sites across the Melbourne area
- Strong communication skills and professionalism when dealing with clients, project managers and fellow tradespeople
- Physical fitness and ability to work at heights safely and confidently
