We are seeking an exceptional and passionate music educator to join our Performing Arts Department. This is an exciting prospect to combine outstanding classroom teaching with leadership of the School’s Brass Program and make a significant contribution to one of Victoria’s leading independent school Performing Arts programs.

About the Role
This position combines Classroom Music teaching with leadership within one of Victoria’s leading independent school Performing Arts programs. The successful applicant will:
- Teach Classroom Music across Years 7–12, including senior secondary classes where appropriate
- Lead and develop the School’s Brass Program
- Provide brass tuition and inspire students through classroom teaching and instrumental learning
- Conduct one or more co-curricular instrumental ensembles
- Contribute to the ongoing development of curriculum, ensemble programs and Performing Arts initiatives
- Work collaboratively with a highly skilled team to foster student engagement, participation and musical excellence
About You

The successful applicant will demonstrate:
- Excellence in classroom teaching
- Outstanding conducting, rehearsal and ensemble leadership skills
- Expertise as a brass educator with the ability to engage students across a range of abilities
- Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
- A collaborative approach and commitment to educational excellence
Desirable Experience
- Experience teaching senior secondary Music
- Experience conducting instrumental ensembles within a school setting
- Experience leading or contributing to instrumental music programs
- Experience preparing students for concerts, festivals, competitions and other performance opportunities
- A commitment to innovation and continuous improvement in music education

Shortlisted applicants will participate in a two-stage selection process. Final-round candidates will be invited to demonstrate their ensemble conducting skills by rehearsing one of the School’s instrumental ensembles as part of the second-round interview.
