Introduction

We are seeking an experienced SAP HCM Payroll Lead Consultant to support a large-scale Payroll and Time Consolidation Program for a mining industry client. This is an excellent chance for a self-driven SAP Australia Payroll expert to lead configuration validation, testing, and go-live readiness activities on a high-visibility consolidation initiative. The ideal candidate brings deep hands-on expertise in SAP Australia Payroll and thrives working independently in a remote, cross-time-zone environment.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must-have qualifications that candidates must meet to be considered.

- Minimum 10+ years of SAP HCM Payroll experience
- Strong expertise in SAP Australia Payroll configuration and support
- Self-driven professional able to work independently with minimal oversight
- Hands-on experience with:
- Payroll schemas and PCRs
- Wage type design and processing
- Payroll posting and reconciliation
- Retroactive accounting
- Leave and absence management
- Payroll integrations and interfaces

- Experience supporting payroll consolidation or migration projects
- Strong testing experience, including SIT, UAT,



and payroll parallel runs
- Ability to perform configuration analysis, solution design, and defect resolution
- Experience with S/4HANA or Employee Central Payroll environments

Preferred Skills & Qualifications Nice-to-have skills that would make a candidate more competitive but are not required.

- Prior experience in the mining or resources industry
- Experience leading payroll workstreams on large, multi-site consolidation programs

- Support Australia payroll consolidation activities from configuration through go-live
- Perform configuration validation and analysis within SAP HCM Payroll
- Lead and support testing cycles, including SIT, UAT, and payroll parallel runs
- Conduct payroll readiness assessments and go-live preparation
- Identify, analyze, and resolve payroll configuration defects
- Collaborate with the broader program team across time zones, with availability to start early in the Australia day to overlap with US afternoon hours (~3:00 PM MST/5 AM AWST/7 AM AEST)
