About the Role
We are seeking passionate and enthusiastic Disability/MentalHealth Support Mentors with a passion for helping people. Previous experiencesupporting people with complex support needs is highly desirable.
The ideal mentor will be friendly, fun and engaging, building a therapeutic relationship to successfully assist our clients with arange of disability-related supports.
Location, Point of Hire and Travel
This position is based in Regional, Western Australia(Kununurra, Broome, Geraldton, Karratha). Each region is the designated point of hire:all rostered duties commence and conclude in the designated region, andremuneration and rostering are structured on that basis.
We warmly welcome applications from candidates who currentlyreside in Kununurra and the East Kimberley, Kununurra, Broome, Geraldton,Karratha, as well as from candidates elsewhere in regional WA and interstatewho are willing to work in Regional WA on a block-roster basis.
- Local candidates will work a rotating roster across our 24/7 service(including active night shifts, weekends and public holidays).
- Non-localcandidates intended to be engaged on a 1 week on / 1 week off blockroster. Travel to and from each regional hub at the start and end of each swing isself-managed and at the employee's own expense. This consideration of thiscost is identified in the overall renumeration arrangement.
Before applying, candidates who do not reside locally shouldsatisfy themselves of their ability to reliably present for rostered duties inthe successful location for the duration of each roster cycle. Candidates consideringpermanent relocation are encouraged to apply and to raise thisduring the recruitment process.
As a live in support model,
accommodation is provided by theemployer during rostered shift times. Casual and Permanent Part Time positionsare available.

Key Responsibilities
- Followperson-centred support plans to ensure client safety and wellbeing are atthe centre of everything you do
- Providesupport and assistance with daily living tasks, which includesprompting/medication administration
- Maintaina high level of progress note-taking and record-keeping
- Maintaina high level of integrity and regard for professional boundaries,confidentiality and dignity in the delivery of support
- Buildand maintain positive relationships with the client and their widersupport networks
Skills & Experience
- Youmust have an NDIS Worker Screening Check, or be willing to obtain one atyour own expense
- Previousexperience working with and supporting people with complex intellectualdisabilities and behaviours
- Experienceworking in regional and remote locations, or the confidence and resilienceto do so
- Culturalcompetence in supporting people who identify as Aboriginal or TorresStrait Islander
- AustralianDriver's Licence
- Aminimum of Certificate III in Disability / Community Services or relevantindustry or lived experience
- CurrentFirst Aid Certificate (including CPR)
- Successfulcandidates will be required to clear all relevant probity clearances,which include a Working With Children Check and NDIS Worker ScreeningCheck
- Non-localcandidates: capacity to reliably travel to and from Kununurra for eachrostered swing at your own arrangement and expense
