Role Description This is a part-time remote role for a Scrum Master / Release Manager. The individual in this position will facilitate agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, ensuring teams follow agreed workflows and remove impediments. They will work with product owners and developers to refine user stories, maintain backlogs, and support effective prioritization across research and engineering projects.

The role includes coordinating release planning, managing release schedules, tracking dependencies, and communicating status to stakeholders.

The Scrum

Master / Release Manager will also support continuous improvement by analyzing team performance metrics, encouraging collaboration, and promoting best practices that align with the Lab’s AI research goals.

Qualifications

Agile delivery skills, including experience with Sprint Planning and managing iterative development cycles.

Strong Analytical Skills to interpret team metrics, identify risks, and support data-informed decision-making.





Excellent Communication skills to coordinate cross-functional teams, facilitate meetings, and provide clear status updates.

Ability to work with User Stories, including refinement, backlog management, and alignment with research and technical objectives.

Understanding of Software Development processes and life cycles, preferably in AI, machine learning, or research-focused environments.

Experience as a Scrum Master, Release Manager, or similar role in agile teams;

certification (e.g., CSM, PSM, Protected) is a plus.

Proficiency with agile and collaboration tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Git-based platforms) and remote work practices.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate across international, multidisciplinary teams.
