CommencingJuly 2026, Wesley Mission is growing its GambleAware services, extending our reach across Blue Mountains & Western Sydney, Central Sydney,SouthwestSydney, and North Sydney & Central Coast. This expansion reflects our longstanding commitment to harm reduction and ensures more individuals, families and communities can accesstimely,high-qualitysupport forgambling relatedharm.

About the role

As a Team Leader, you will provide visible, supportive and values‑driven leadership, ensuring high‑quality, protected and effective service delivery across GambleAware programs.

You will lead a team of dedicated counsellors and be responsible for operational oversight, workforce support, quality and continuous improvement, while working closely with managers and senior leaders during a period of service growth.

Key responsibilities include:

Leading and supporting staff to deliver safe, high‑quality, person‑centred services

Oversight of day‑to‑day operations in line with GambleAware Service Specifications and Quality Standards

Coaching, supervision and performance development of team members

Supporting staff wellbeing in a fast‑paced, emotionally demanding service environment

Contributing to service development, continuous improvement and reporting requirements





Building collaborative relationships with internal teams and external partners

Promoting inclusive, culturally responsive and trauma‑informed practice

Essential skills/knowledge

Relevant tertiary qualification in counselling or Psychology,

Proven team leadership skillsincludingexperience in supervision of staff, performancemanagementand team development

Demonstrated skillsand experience of a broad range of therapeutic approaches when working with individuals, couples,familiesand youth

Understanding and development in co-mobilities,addictionsand/or gambling counselling

Membership of professional association (i.e.,APS, PACFA, ACA)

Demonstrated abilityto buildrelationships of trust and cooperation, problem solve and resolve conflict

Demonstrate highly developed communication skills in written and oral situations, with supportive & positive attitude toward allpeoplefor whom there is responsibility,accountabilityor care

High levelofcomputer literacy, ability to manageclient-based systems and Microsoft suite

Current NSW driver’s license

Current working with children’s check

Police checks and clearances

Experience and training in Gambling Harm and or addictions

Experience in Power BI and GambleAware digital platform

Demonstrated behaviours
