FinXL IT Professional Services is an established cutting-edge Australian company providing technology enabled business solutions and consulting services across a number of industries including Telecommunications, Commercial, Government and Finance.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Network Automation Engineer to support the automation, optimisation, and reliability of complex network and infrastructure environments.

This role is suited to an engineer with strong networking fundamentals, Linux experience, cloud exposure, and hands‑on automation capability. You will work across networking, infrastructure, cloud, and DevOps domains to streamline operations, improve efficiency, and deliver scalable automation solutions.

Telecommunications or HFC experience is desirable but not essential.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and implement automation solutions to improve network operations and reduce manual effort.
- Develop automation scripts using Python, Shell, or similar technologies.
- Automate deployment, monitoring, reporting, and operational processes.
- Support cloud and hybrid environments, including cloud networking and infrastructure services.
- Manage GitHub repositories, workflows, and version control processes.
- Develop and support CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or similar tools.




- Apply DevOps and Infrastructure-as-Code practices to improve delivery outcomes.
- Partner with Engineering, Operations, Architecture, Security, and Vendors on technical solutions.
- Contribute to technical documentation, design discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Knowledge & Skills Required:

- Skills & Experience
- Strong networking fundamentals with experience troubleshooting complex environments.
- Strong Python and Shell scripting skills.
- Experience with Ansible, Terraform, or similar automation tools.
- Hands‑on cloud experience and understanding of cloud networking concepts.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Experience with GitHub workflows and repository management.
- Exposure to Docker and Kubernetes is desirable.
- Telecommunications or service provider experience.
- Exposure to HFC, DOCSIS, CMTS, or broadband access networks.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana, Splunk, or ELK.
- Relevant certifications across networking, Linux, cloud, or automation technologies.
