Senior Counsel/Associate Lawyer | Energy & Infrastructure Projects- 12 Month
Elevate is partnering with an international top-tier law firm for an onward secondment with a leading Australian energy and infrastructure organisation. This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of complex and strategically significant assets and support stakeholders across a broad range of commercial, operational, and regulatory matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements and project-related documentation
- Provide strategic legal advice on operational, commercial and project matters
- Support stakeholders across the lifecycle of major infrastructure and asset-related projects
- Assist with the management of legal, commercial and regulatory risks
- Lead or support complex legal matters and commercial negotiations
- Work closely with internal stakeholders and external advisers to deliver practical business outcomes
- Contribute to the efficient delivery of legal services across a broad portfolio of assets and projects
Required Experience
- Admitted to practice in Australia with 5-12+ years' PQE
- Strong experience in commercial contracting, drafting and negotiation
- Experience gained within a leading law firm and/or in-house legal environment
- Ability to manage complex legal matters and provide commercially pragmatic advice
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management capabilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Experience supporting projects, infrastructure, construction, energy, property, corporate or related sectors will be highly regarded
- Work matters, enterprise bargaining, workplace investigations, and employment disputes.
Nice to have
- Direct energy or utilities experience
- Experience with generation assets,
including gas/coal-fired generation, wind, solar, hydro or BESS
- Previous in-house or secondment experience
- Construction/projects experience, including EPC, D&C;, O&M; or major services agreements
