Our client is seeking two experienced Senior Business Analysts to work as part of a motivated, multi-disciplinary team in a highly supportive environment, with the potential to impact millions of Australians.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. Contribute across all phases of projects, including Plan, Analyse, Design, Build and Test, and Go-Live.
2. Partner with cross-functional technology and design teams to ensure consistent solution delivery.
3. Work with business stakeholders to create user stories, refine the product backlog, and act as a liaison between business SMEs and the delivery team.
4. Maintain the feature backlog in consultation with product owners and business SMEs.
5. Define Product Backlog Items (PBIs) including acceptance criteria and facilitate approval from relevant business stakeholders.
6. Support the delivery team in translating business needs and requirements into system specifications.
7. Facilitate workshops and consultation sessions to ensure business objectives are met and delivered features provide maximum business value.
8. Work closely with the project team to ensure DevOps items are managed to meet timeframes, timely development sprints are achieved, and defects are resolved.
9. Assist product owners and SMEs with business verification and testing, including User Acceptance Testing.
10. Work in a fast-paced agile operating environment, adopting delivery in sprints.
11.
Create and update BA artefacts such as feature summary documentation, DevOps PBIs, process maps and training materials.
Essential Criteria Each candidate must provide a one-page pitch addressing all criteria. The pitch is limited to 5,000 characters.
1. Extensive experience working in agile project teams involving technical resources, business stakeholders and delivery pressure, with attention to detail, ability to organise competing priorities, progress multiple deliverables in parallel and meet deadlines with minimal supervision. (Weighting: 25%)
2. Extensive experience and skills in requirements and analysis for data platforms, data services layers, data integrations, and ideally in multilateral data sharing agreements. (Weighting: 25%)
3. Elicit information and/or high-level requirements from customers and stakeholders in order to collaborate on desired outcomes, with robust experience as an agile business analyst. (Weighting: 25%)
4. Produce clear and concise BA artefacts and documentation under time pressure, ensuring fitness for purpose and value addition in subsequent stages of the SDLC. (Weighting: 25%)
Desirable Criteria
1. Experience working within federal government.
2. Strong experience working with requirements for data integration, data services layers, and data platforms.
3. Understanding of the Australian Government's Digital Service Standard and the principles behind human-centred design.
