Join Wodonga Council's Finance team and play an key role in supporting the financial services that help keep our city running. As Revenue Officer, you'll be responsible for maintaining the integrity of Council's revenue, rating and property information systems while delivering high-quality service to both internal and external customers. Working across rates administration, property records, banking, reconciliations and customer enquiries, you'll help ensure Council's financial information remains accurate, compliant and reliable.

Key aspects of the role:
Maintain accurate property and rating records
Play a key role in keeping Council's property and rating information current and compliant. You'll process property transfers, ownership changes, subdivisions and other amendments that ensure the integrity of Council's rating database and support accurate revenue management.
Support revenue, banking and financial reconciliations
Work across a variety of financial processes including bank reconciliations, debtor management, revenue control accounts and transaction processing. Your attention to detail will help ensure Council's financial records remain accurate, balanced and reliable while supporting sound financial governance and reporting.
Deliver responsive customer and revenue services
Provide advice and assistance to ratepayers, residents and internal stakeholders on matters relating to rates, property records, concessions, payments and financial transactions. You'll help resolve enquiries and deliver positive customer experiences through professional, accurate and timely service.
Contribute to systems improvement and team success
Support the ongoing administration of Council's revenue systems while identifying opportunities to improve processes, controls and service delivery. You'll work closely with colleagues across the Finance team, contributing to business continuity and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency and compliance.
What we're looking for:
- Experience in finance, revenue, accounts receivable, banking or a similar financial administration environment.
- Experience undertaking reconciliations, transaction processing and maintaining accurate financial records.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Well-developed computer skills and experience using financial systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- The ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures and legislative requirements.
- Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to build positive working relationships.
- Local government experience or knowledge of rating and revenue administration practices will be highly regarded
