About the role:

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Developer to join our Business Applications team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. Working within a cohesive team and an established software development framework, this role is critical to the delivery of new systems and enhancements to core applications that support our 500+ staff across multiple business units and align with the broader business strategy.

As a Senior Developer, you will collaborate closely with other developers, business analysts, UX/UI designers, project managers, and stakeholders across the project lifecycle. You will design, develop, implement and support software solutions.

Reporting to the Development Manager, the role requires superior technical, organisational, and communication skills to thrive in our fast-paced and challenging wealth management environment.

Primary responsibilities:

- Work closely with business units to understand requirements and translate them into practical software designs
- Design, build, test, package, deploy, and support new features and enhancements to existing systems
- Take ownership of code quality, architecture, maintainability, and correctness across assigned work
- Use AI-assisted development tools (E.g. Claude Code), where appropriate, while critically reviewing and refining any generated code
- Review development tools and processes and suggest practical improvements
- Provide regular, clear status updates to the Development Manager

Your strong organisational and self-management skills enable you to effectively prioritise tasks and maintain productivity. Furthermore,



you excel in verbal, presentation, and communication skills, allowing you to articulate ideas clearly and collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.

Required experience:

- 7–8+ years of practical, hands-on software development experience
- Technical degree preferred
- Broad Finance Industry knowledge and experience — ideally in wealth management
- Proven commercial experience in the use of software development processes
- Knowledge and experience with agile development practices

Required knowledge & technical skills:

Application development

- Full stack development across front-end and back-end systems
- Strong experience with C#, .NET Core, and Web APIs
- Strong expertise in Angular; AngularJS experience desirable
- Solid understanding of OOP, design patterns, and dependency injection

Data and reporting

- Oracle PL/SQL and SQL Server T-SQL
- Data modelling and database design
- SSRS and SSIS

Front-end

- HTML5, CSS, Bootstrap, SASS, LESS
- Responsive web design

Tools and practices

- Git source control and TFS
- Agile development practices
- OAuth and authentication/authorisation concepts
- AI-assisted development tools (e.g. Claude Code), with the ability to review, debug, and improve generated code
- Hybrid mobile application development experience desirable
