About the

As a Project Officer with NSW Resources, you will provide vital project management and delivery support for the NSW Critical Minerals and High-Tech Metals Strategy, helping to advance initiatives that support economic growth, investment and the future of the state's resources sector. Working across a range of strategic projects, you will coordinate governance activities, prepare reporting and briefs, monitor progress against key milestones and contribute to informed decision‑making that helps turn strategy into action.

This is an exciting opportunity to gain exposure to complex policy and strategic initiatives while developing your project management expertise in a fast‑paced and collaborative environment. As part of a dynamic team, you will work closely with stakeholders across government and industry, contributing to meaningful projects that help shape the future of critical minerals and high‑tech metals in NSW.

About You

We are seeking a proactive and organised professional who thrives in a project‑focused environment and enjoys bringing people, information and processes together to achieve outcomes. You will have strong communication skills, a collaborative approach and the ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining attention to detail and delivering high‑quality work.

As our ideal candidate, you will bring:

- Experience supporting the delivery of projects, programs or strategic initiatives
- Strong project coordination, planning and organisational skills
- Strong written and communication skills
- Experience preparing reports, briefs and governance documentation
- The ability to monitor project progress and track milestones and deliverables
- Strong research, analytical and problem‑solving capabilities
- Well‑developed stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
- The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
- An interest in government strategy,



policy development or the resources sector
- A collaborative mindset and commitment to delivering quality outcomes as part of a high‑performing team
- Current valid Driver’s Licence and willingness to travel within NSW
- Compliance with pre‑employment probity screening is mandatory and a condition of engagement.

Who We Are

NSW Resources, a division of the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development, is responsible for the strategic management, regulation, and sustainable development of New South Wales' mineral and energy resources. We support safe, responsible exploration and mining, working closely with communities, landholders, and industry stakeholders to balance economic growth with environmental protection.

Our main activities include:

- regulating exploration and mining through licensing, compliance and enforcement
- enforcing safety regulations to ensure the safety of workers in the industry
- developing policies for responsible and sustainable resource use
- managing geoscientific data and geological mapping via the Geological Survey of NSW
- supporting investment and economic development in the resources sector
- overseeing mine rehabilitation
- engaging with communities to promote transparency and land access collaboration.
