Role Description The Senior Injury Management Advisor is a full-time, in office role based in Duncraig, WA. This position is responsible for overseeing end-to-end injury management, including early intervention, case management, and return-to-work planning for team members across Primero’s operations.
The role involves liaising with workers, supervisors, medical practitioners, insurers, and other stakeholders to coordinate appropriate treatment, rehabilitation, and suitable duties. The advisor will review incident reports and claims data, identify trends, and recommend strategies to reduce workplace injuries and improve safety outcomes. Daily activities include maintaining accurate documentation, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and company policies, providing coaching to leaders on injury management practices,
and contributing to continuous improvement of health and safety programs.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in workplace injury management, workers’ compensation, and return-to-work coordination within heavy industry, resources, or construction environments.
- Strong knowledge of relevant Western Australian workers’ compensation legislation, injury management guidelines, and best-practice rehabilitation processes.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to build trust, manage sensitive conversations, and influence outcomes at all levels of the organization.
- Proven capability in case management, documentation, and report writing, including accurate record-keeping and data analysis to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
- Sound understanding of health, safety, and wellbeing principles, with the ability to collaborate closely with HSE teams to align injury management with broader safety strategies.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in allied health, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, rehabilitation, human resources, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple cases and priorities while meeting deadlines and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in using case management systems, Microsoft Office applications, and other digital tools to support reporting and communication.
- Experience providing guidance and training to supervisors and leaders on injury prevention and recovery at work is highly regarded.
