We're partnering with a leading Australian bank to find a Senior Database Engineer (MongoDB) to design, optimise and support enterprise database platforms. You'll work with engineering and architecture teams to deliver secure, scalable and high-performing database solutions, while driving automation, reliability and continuous improvement across complex technology environments.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, implement and enhance enterprise database platforms to support scalable and resilient technology solutions.
- Drive database security, governance and compliance initiatives across complex environments.
- Partner with engineering, architecture and delivery teams to provide technical expertise and solution guidance.
- Develop and improve automation capabilities using Infrastructure as Code and DevOps practices.
- Lead performance tuning, optimisation and troubleshooting activities across critical database platforms.
- Act as an escalation point for complex technical issues and platform incidents.
- Create technical documentation and share best practices across engineering teams.
- Mentor team members and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Skills & Experience





- Extensive experience designing, administering and supporting enterprise MongoDB environments.
- Strong understanding of database security, encryption, governance and compliance requirements.
- Hands-on experience with automation and DevOps tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins or similar technologies.
- Strong performance tuning, optimisation and troubleshooting experience within large-scale environments.
- Exposure to database technologies such as PostgreSQL, Cosmos DB and other NoSQL platforms.
- Proficiency in SQL, Python and Shell scripting.
- Experience working across infrastructure, platform and cloud engineering environments.
- Solid stakeholder management, communication and problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience working within Agile delivery environments and modern engineering practices.
- MongoDB certification or equivalent expertise highly regarded.
