LGC Rail Services is seeking an experienced and commercially driven Senior Operations Manager to lead our growing rail business across Western Australia. Reporting directly to the Company Director, this senior leadership position carries full accountability for the commercial, operational, safety and strategic performance of a diverse rail services business generating approximately $10M-$16M in annual revenue.

This is a rare chance for a proven rail industry leader to take ownership of an established business delivering rail signalling, rail maintenance, civil contracting, labour hire and equipment hire services to some of Australia's largest rail asset owners, mining companies and Tier 1 contractors.

About the Role

As the Senior Operations Manager, you will be responsible for driving business performance across all aspects of the operation, including profitability, project delivery, customer relationships, workforce leadership, HSEQ performance and business growth. You will lead a team of operational leaders, supervisors, rail professionals and project personnel while maintaining strong relationships with major clients including BHP, Rio Tinto, Fortescue, Roy Hill, ARC Infrastructure, Public Transport Authority WA and leading rail contractors.

Key Responsibilities

You will:





- Lead the overall performance and profitability of LGC Rail Services.
- Manage business planning, budgets and forecasting.
- Drive operational excellence across signalling, maintenance, civil works, labour hire and equipment hire services.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to client requirements.
- Provide strong leadership and direction to operational teams across multiple projects and locations.
- Champion a positive safety culture and continuous improvement mindset.
- Build and maintain strategic client relationships across the rail sector.
- Lead tender submissions, project bids and growth opportunities.
- Monitor project performance, workforce utilisation and operational KPIs.
- Support workforce development, succession planning and leadership growth initiatives.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Significant senior leadership experience within rail, civil construction, infrastructure or industrial services environments.
- Demonstrated success managing a business unit.
- Strong knowledge of rail signalling, rail maintenance, rail infrastructure or civil project delivery.
- Experience leading multi-disciplinary operational teams across diverse projects and locations.




- Outstanding commercial and financial management skills.
- Proven capability in customer relationship management, business development and tendering.
- Comprehensive understanding of rail industry safety requirements and contractor management.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and leadership skills.
- Current unrestricted driver's licence.

Qualifications in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Project Management or related disciplines will be highly regarded, along with RIW accreditation and formal leadership or HSEQ qualifications.
