As a Production Driller, you will be at the forefront of our mining activities, playing a crucial role in achieving daily production targets. You will operate and maintain state-of-the-art drilling rigs, contributing directly to the extraction of ore that is essential to our operations.

This role is pivotal in driving our production efforts forward, ensuring that our operations run smoothly and efficiently.

Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring that all drilling is carried out safely and to the highest standards, as you will be responsible for both the execution and precision of drilling tasks.

Responsibilities of the role

- Perform production drilling activities safely and efficiently to meet daily targets.
- Operate and maintain underground drilling rigs, ensuring they are in optimal working condition.
- Accurately record drilling data and report any issues to the Shift Supervisor.
- Read and follow worksheets and drill pattern
- Stop/correct/report any hazards at the work place and pass on all relevant information to supervisor and cross shift
- Perform pre-start and shut-down checks on all equipment, ground conditions, consumables, survey and drill plans.
- Perform site prep, pack-up and clean ups on start-up and completion of jobs, sign off as required.
- Participate in shift changeover and pass on relevant information, fill out drilling report sheets accurately (including problems encountered, job condition).
- Mentor style approach for teamwork. Lead by example and fulfil all job roles trained and competent in.

What we require from you

- A strong attitude and commitment to workplace health and safety
- Extensive experience in Underground mining




- Trained and assessed as competent in the operation of production drills
- Technical capability to operate a Sandvik DL432i and DL422i longhole drill with high accuracy and efficiency
- Ability to read drill plans and accurately record drilling data

About Us

Tomingley Gold Mine, owned and operated by West Australian based Alkane Resources Ltd, is situated near the village of Tomingley, 50 km south of Dubbo in Central Recent South Wales. Our mining operation includes both underground and open-cut mines, as well as a processing plant on-site that is responsible for producing gold bullion. The mine's workforce consists of approximately 250 permanent employees who hold various roles in professional, technical, mining, processing, and trades.

One significant development for the Tomingley Gold Mine is the approval of both an extension to our underground mine and a new open-cut mine located 3 km to the south of the existing Tomingley deposits. This development approval and expansion will see a mine life beyond 2032.
