Position Summary :

The role of the Delivery Driver is to deliver and pick up product and/or equipment to and from company sites and suppliers. The Delivery driver’s responsibilities involve Loading & unloading, delivery and pick-up, reporting, operations, service, safety and maintenance, and other duties as assigned by management. The truck driver will maintain a positive attitude that promotes team work within the company and a favourable image of the company. Delivery and pickup involves making deliveries and pick-ups in the most efficient, economical manner possible. Safety and maintenance involves delivering safely, following regulations, and safely operating and maintaining the delivery vehicle.

Key Requirements :

- Experience working within a warehouse workplace
- Basic mechanical knowledge to handle minor repairs
- Knowledge of state transport regulations.
- Competent driving skills
- Skill to maneuver large vehicles on highways and traffic routes
- Knowledge of vehicle and all its parts
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Planning and organising
- To enjoy practical and manual activities
- The ability to work as part of a team
- To be able to follow written instructions

Job Responsibility :





- Ensure that all Policies and plans are adhered to at all times
- Load and Unload Trucks in efficient and safe manner
- Deliver product to and pick up product from specified locations
- Ensure delivery dockets are made out prior to loading or delivery
- Develop and maintain an organized and efficient loading and unloading system
- Unload according to customers requests
- Verify all items loaded and delivered
- Communicate safe storage and handling procedures to delivery points
- Submit trip report to supervisor daily
- Fill out trip report completely and accurately
- Check lights and safety equipment daily
- Obey all traffic laws, including: driving within posted speed limits, stopping and looking for traffic at all stop signs, Drive defensively
- Report any unsafe equipment or working conditions to your supervisor
- Allow no riders who have not been approved by your supervisor
- Follow the regular vehicle maintenance schedule provided by your supervisor
- Maintain a log of their activities, condition of the vehicle and any cases of accidents
- Any other duties that are requested
