Waterproofing Integrity
Parramatta
Waterproofing Integrity is Australia's largest independent waterproofing advisory group, providing objective, project-focused advice in accordance with the National Construction Code (NCC), Australian Standards and industry best practice.
We're growing our Design team and are looking for two Design Assistants to join our established and experienced team in Silverwater.
If you enjoy solving technical problems, take pride in accurate work and want to build genuine technical capability, we'd like to hear from you.
You'll work under the guidance of our Assistant Design Manager alongside experienced design professionals, supporting the development and coordination of waterproofing design documentation across a wide range of construction projects.
You don't need waterproofing experience. We expect curiosity, attention to detail, a willingness to ask questions and a commitment to learning.
The Role
As a Design Assistant, you'll help keep projects accurate, coordinated and progressing.
Working closely with the Design team, you'll assist in preparing waterproofing documentation, reviewing architectural and consultant information, incorporating design feedback and coordinating the information needed to deliver high-quality project outcomes.
You'll also take ownership of your work. That means keeping documentation organised, checking your work carefully, following up missing information and communicating early if something may affect a deadline.
Construction projects rarely follow a straight line. Information changes, details emerge and solutions aren't always obvious. We don't expect you to know every answer—we expect you to engage with the challenge, ask the right questions and collaborate with our experienced team to find the best solution.
Your Responsibilities
You’ll be involved in:
- Assisting with waterproofing design documentation, drawings, details and mark-ups.
- Reviewing architectural, consultant and project documentation.
- Updating documentation following internal review and feedback.
- Coordinating project information, revisions and design inputs.
- Maintaining accurate drawing registers and project documentation.
- Following up missing information and raising issues that may affect project progress.
- Managing your workload across multiple projects while meeting agreed deadlines.
- Working closely with the Assistant Design Manager and wider Design team to resolve issues and keep projects moving.
- Building your understanding of waterproofing design, compliance, constructability and the Australian construction environment.
What We're Looking For
You may be starting your career or already have some experience in architecture, building design, drafting, construction or a related design discipline.
You’ll have:
- Understanding of NCC & referenced Australian Standards.
- Experience with relevant AEC design and documentation software such as AutoCad, Bluebeam/Revuis desirable.
- The ability to read and interpret architectural and construction drawings.
- Valuable organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Professional and articulate written and verbal communication skills.
- A willingness to learn, accept feedback and continuously improve.
- Strong attention to detail.
- A qualification, or current study, in Architecture, Architectural Technology, Building Design, Drafting, Civil Engineering,
Construction or a related discipline will be well regarded.
What You'll Learn
Waterproofing is a highly specialised trade, so previous waterproofing experience isn't essential. We'll provide comprehensive on-the-job training, direct mentorship from industry experts, and access to our extensive knowledge bank built from hundreds of successfully completed projects.
You’ll develop your skills by working on real construction projects under the guidance of experienced design professionals in a collaborative environment focused on technical quality and continuous improvement.
As your experience grows, so will your capability.
You’ll progress from following a mark-up to understanding why a detail is required. From identifying missing information to knowing what questions to ask. From completing individual tasks to understanding how your work contributes to successful project outcomes.
Along the way, you'll build knowledge of design intent, compliance, constructability and how design decisions translate into what is actually built.
Why Waterproofing Integrity?
We operate exclusively as independent waterproofing advisors.
That independence matters. Our recommendations aren't influenced by selling products or securing installation work. Our role is to understand each project's challenges, apply technical expertise and provide objective advice that delivers better building outcomes.
For a Design Assistant, this is an opportunity to develop knowledge that extends well beyond producing drawings. You'll gain exposure to real projects, specialist design, compliance, risk management and the practical realities of construction.
You’ll join a team where questions are encouraged, accountability matters and continuous improvement is simply part of how we work.
