Position Overview
Position: Fixed Term, Full Time until 30th June 2027.
Location: Wangaratta, Victoria, Australia; alternative location Wodonga, Victoria.
Salary: $110,110 - $114,980 + SUPER + NFP Salary Packaging.

About the Role
This position is responsible for overseeing the day‑to‑day management of the Family Services Team in the Ovens Murray region and to guide, coach, supervise and support case managers in the delivery of services in a culturally appropriate and trauma‑informed engagement, information gathering and planning processes. The team leaders have a key role in providing culturally safe support, guidance and mentoring to case managers in the program.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day‑to‑day management of the Family Services Team in the Ovens Murray region.
- Guide, coach, supervise and support case managers in service delivery.
- Ensure culturally appropriate, trauma‑informed engagement, information gathering and planning.
- Provide culturally safe support, guidance and mentoring to case managers.
About You
- Demonstrated commitment and understanding of VACCA’s values and vision.
- Demonstrated awareness and appreciation of Aboriginal societies and culture and key issues affecting Aboriginal communities.
- Experience working and engaging with Aboriginal families and children and with children on statutory orders.
- Commitment to working collaboratively, with proven capacity to negotiate and liaise with Government Departments, Aboriginal services and other mainstream agencies.
- Experience working within frameworks and models: trauma‑informed practice, critical reflective practice, cultural‑embedded frameworks, best interests of the child, child‑centred practice, case‑management principles.
- Ability to time‑manage, prioritise work and delegate appropriately while understanding competing demands and stakeholder priorities.
Desirable
- Leadership and management experience in service implementation, reporting, managing brokerage, coaching, mentoring and supporting professional development for case managers.
Requirements
- Tertiary qualification in social work, youth work, psychology or a related discipline and at least three years’ experience in the child and family services system.
- Full Victorian Driver’s Licence and a current Working with Children Check card; must undergo a Police check.
- Current COVID‑19 vaccination (strongly recommended).
