Senior Surveyor

Gambier Earth Movers Pty Ltd | Mount Gambier, South Australia Gambier Earth Movers Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Senior Surveyor to join our team in Mount Gambier.

This is a long-term opportunity for a capable surveyor who enjoys combining fieldwork with technical and commercial responsibilities. You’ll support a diverse range of civil construction and quarry projects, providing accurate surveying, quantity measurement and costing information from tender through to project completion.

Working closely with our Engineering Manager, Project Managers, Project Engineers and operational teams, you’ll play an significant role in delivering projects safely, efficiently and profitably.

The role

Your responsibilities will include:

- Completing construction set-out, as-constructed and verification surveys
- Undertaking field and office-based surveying duties across civil and quarry projects
- Preparing survey drawings, drafting outputs and set-out information
- Analysing survey data, plans, maps and technical documentation
- Producing accurate quantity take-offs for project reporting, claims and variation assessments
- Measuring and verifying quantities throughout project delivery
- Supporting project costing, tendering and material take-offs
- Maintaining accurate survey records and project documentation
- Coordinating with project teams, designers, consultants and clients to resolve technical queries
- Identifying project risks, opportunities and cost-saving initiatives
- Ensuring survey equipment is operated, calibrated and maintained correctly
- Completing all work in accordance with WHS, quality, environmental and regulatory requirements

About you

To succeed in this position, you will ideally have:
- A Diploma or Degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience




- Demonstrated surveying experience within civil construction, quarrying or a similar environment
- Experience using GPS, Total Station and associated survey technologies
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, LISCAD and other relevant survey or data-processing software
- The ability to interpret engineering drawings, plans, maps and technical documentation
- Strong quantity measurement and analytical skills
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Working knowledge of WHS and environmental compliance requirements
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to work effectively with clients, project teams and site personnel
- Competency using Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
