Role Description This is a full-time Senior Tax Accountant role based in Perth, WA, with a hybrid work arrangement that allows some work from home.
The Senior Tax
Accountant will manage complex tax compliance and preparation for individuals, companies, trusts, and SMSFs, ensuring accurate lodgment and adherence to Australian tax legislation. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing and preparing financial statements, advising clients on tax planning strategies, identifying risks and opportunities, and responding to ATO queries and audits. The role involves collaborating with other accountants, financial planners,
and finance brokers to deliver integrated solutions, as well as mentoring junior team members and contributing to process improvements.
The Senior Tax
Accountant will also maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax law changes and proactively communicate implications to clients and the team.
Qualifications
Strong tax technical expertise, including Tax, Tax Compliance, and Tax Preparation skills relevant to Australian tax law.
Proficiency in Accounting and the preparation and analysis of Financial Statements for various entity types.
Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, CA, or equivalent) and relevant tertiary degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Demonstrated experience in public practice or a similar environment, ideally at senior or supervisory level.
High level of attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities in complex tax and accounting matters.
Effective communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly and build strong client relationships.
Comfort working in a hybrid environment, managing workload independently while collaborating effectively with the wider team.
Experience with accounting and tax software (e.g., Xero, MYOB, or similar) and robust general digital literacy.
Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with regulatory and tax changes.
