About the role

Western Automate is seeking a skilled Service Technician - Automatic Gates to join our growing team on a full-time basis. Based in Cockburn Central, WA 6164, this role offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge automation technology whilst providing essential services to our valued clients across Perth and surrounding regions.

As a Service Technician, you will be instrumental in maintaining, repairing, and installing automatic gate systems for residential, commercial, and industrial clients. This position is vital to our operations, ensuring that our clients' security and access control systems remain in optimal working condition. You will be the face of Western Automate in the field, delivering professional service that builds long-term customer relationships and upholds our reputation for excellence.

What you'll be doing

- Diagnosing and repairing faulty automatic gate systems, including motors, control boards, sensors, and safety devices
- Installing new automatic gate systems in accordance with manufacturer specifications and industry safety standards
- Conducting routine maintenance and inspections to ensure systems operate safely and efficiently
- Testing gate systems following repair or installation to verify functionality and safety compliance
- Responding to emergency service calls and providing timely troubleshooting to minimise client downtime
- Maintaining detailed service records and documentation for all work completed
- Communicating clearly with clients to explain technical issues and solutions in accessible terms




- Identifying opportunities to recommend system upgrades or additional services to clients
- Ensuring tools, equipment, and vehicles are maintained in good working order

What we're looking for

- Trade qualification or equivalent experience in a related field such as electrical work, mechanical systems, or gate automation technology
- Proven experience working with automatic gate systems, access control systems, or similar automation equipment
- Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical principles applicable to gate mechanisms and motor systems
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills with the ability to work methodically through complex technical issues
- Current driver's licence and reliable access to transport, as the role requires travel to client sites across Perth
- Physical capability to carry tools and equipment, work at heights when necessary, and perform manual handling tasks
- Strong communication skills and a professional approach to customer service
- Ability to work independently whilst remaining part of a collaborative team setting
- Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with industry developments and new technologies




- High standards of safety awareness and a commitment to compliance with all workplace health and safety legislation

The successful applicant will start on a probationary period of 6 months with the opportunity for full time after the probation period

- 90-110k Per Annum Depending On Experience
- 4 Day Weeks - 10 Hour Days
- Position Commencing immediately
