As a Business Support Officer at Yarra Ranges Council, you will provide high-level administrative support to the Creative Communities team. You will play a key role in proactively identifying and resolving financial issues, ensuring that all cash handling, event reconciliation, ticket reconciliation, and accounting processes are completed accurately, efficiently, and in a timely manner.
The position has a strong focus on reviewing and improving processes to ensure they remain aligned with evolving systems, operational needs, and organisational requirements. Working collaboratively across the team, you will contribute to the delivery of effective business support services that support successful community programs and events.
This is a part time temporary parental leave cover position until September 2027 (19 hours per week).
This is a Band 5 role with an hourly rate of $40.73 per hour, plus superannuation.

Experience and skills we’re looking for
- Proficiency and demonstrated experience in Microsoft office, including Microsoft excel.
- Experience in bookkeeping and financial processes, including GST requirements, reconciliation and procurement practices.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to identify discrepancies, investigate issues,
and develop effective solutions.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to improving processes.
- The ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities and deadlines at the same time.
- Relevant training and substantial experience in a broad administrative role.
- Great organisational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate confidently with diverse customers.
