Bidgerdii Community Health Services is an Aboriginal and TorresStrait Islander community controlled primary health care service, operating inthe Rockhampton and wider Central Queensland region for more than 30 years.

Our services include general practice bulk-billing clinics, socialand emotional wellbeing and generalist counselling services, chronic diseasemanagement, preventative health screening, children and family health and earlychildhood education services.

Minimum Requirements of the role:





- Completion of Certificate III in Aboriginal and/orTorres Strait Islander Primary Health Care Practice qualification.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of deliveringculturally appropriate services, including an understanding of the issuesthat impact on the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres StraitIslander people.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimalsupervision, and as a member of a team, including the ability toprioritise tasks, manage workloads, respond to organisational demand, anddeal with matters of a confidential and sensitive nature;
- Demonstrated high level interpersonal and writtencommunication skills including the ability to consult, negotiate, liaise,and communicate effectively and sensitively with Aboriginal and TorresStrait Islander people;
- Demonstrated knowledge of diabetes management, or astrong interest and passion for supporting people living with diabetes.
- Experience in community engagement, outreach, orworking with community-based programs and stakeholders.

Practical Requirements:

- Immunisation requirements – It is a condition ofemployment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinatedagainst the following vaccine-preventable diseases: measles, mumps,rubella, varicella, hepatitis B, hepatitis A, and pertussis (whoopingcough) during their employment
- Current CPR and First Aid Certificate
- Current Blue Card (Working with Children and youngpeople) or willingness to apply for a Blue Card - essential
