Job Description

On behalf of our client, we are seeking a Veterinarian to join a dedicated team of veterinarians, veterinary nurses, and reception staff who are passionate about delivering high-quality animal care in a supportive, collaborative, and positive workplace workplace. The successful applicant will enjoy an excellent work-life balance, including one weekday off each week and one Saturday shift in every three. Participation in after-hours work is optional, providing the opportunity to earn additional income for those who wish to do so.

The role also offers four weeks of annual leave plus study leave, allowing time for both professional development and personal wellbeing. Located in a desirable coastal region, the clinic is just minutes from local cafés and beaches, with easy access to national parks and the Keppel Islands. The practice combines the benefits of a privately owned, close-knit team environment with exposure to a diverse and rewarding caseload.

Staff are encouraged to contribute ideas, develop their interests, and work collaboratively to achieve the best outcomes for patients and clients. This is a 100% small animal role, encompassing consultations, diagnostic imaging, surgery, preventative healthcare, and general medicine. The successful candidate will also have opportunities to pursue areas of special interest, including orthopaedics, dentistry, wildlife medicine, and home visit services.

Key responsibilities include:





- Providing high-quality veterinary care and treatment while maintaining professional and ethical standards.
- Conducting consultations, examinations, diagnostics, and treatment plans for companion animals.
- Educating clients on preventative healthcare, including vaccinations, parasite prevention, nutrition, and general animal wellbeing.
- Performing surgical procedures and assisting with more complex surgeries as required.
- Maintaining accurate medical records and ensuring compliance with veterinary regulations and clinic protocols.
- Supporting and mentoring veterinary nurses, assistants, and other support staff where appropriate.
- Contributing to a collaborative and positive team culture focused on excellent patient care and client service.

Education: Applicants must have a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (or equivalent) and be eligible for registration as a veterinary practitioner in Australia. Experience & Skills

- At least 2 – 3 years of work experience working in a veterinary clinic both consultative and surgical preferred
- Ability to work with fellow team members and build rapport with clients.
- A desire to grow yourself and develop your career.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.

Salary: Salary being offered is commensurate with qualifications and experience and is between $90k-$160k per annum.
