L3 Managed Services & Project Engineer

MIACOR IT is seeking an experienced Level 3 Managed Services & Project Engineer to join our growing professional services team.

While Brisbane is our preferred location, we recognise great talent isn't limited by geography. We welcome applications from Melbourne-based candidates and will also consider outstanding Project Engineers from elsewhere in Australia.

You'll be responsible for designing, implementing and continually improving client environments across Microsoft 365, Azure, cyber security, networking and infrastructure platforms. As a senior technical resource, you'll lead the delivery of a diverse range of projects, including cloud migrations, security initiatives, infrastructure modernisation and new client onboarding. From initial discovery and solution design through to implementation and handover, you'll take ownership of delivering high-quality technical outcomes.

This is a predominantly project-focused position with most of your time dedicated to project delivery, solution design and technical leadership. You will also act as the primary technical engineer for a portfolio of key managed services clients, developing a deep understanding of their environments, business objectives and technology roadmaps. You’ll build trusted relationships and provide ongoing technical ownership, playing an active role in supporting clients through the lifecycle of their technology investments.

The role also includes participation in a Level 3 business hours escalation roster, technical mentoring opportunities, and contributing to the continual improvement of our services, standards and customer outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Managed Services

- Act as the primary technical engineer for a portfolio of managed services clients

- Develop a deep understanding of client environments, business requirements and technology roadmaps

- Build strong, trusted relationships with client stakeholders and key decision-makers

- Provide Level 3 technical support and escalation assistance across cloud, infrastructure and security environments

- Proactively identify risks, improvement opportunities and strategic recommendations

- Manage, maintain and continuously improve customer environments to ensure optimal performance, reliability and security





- Participate in client technical reviews and contribute to technology planning discussions

- Assist with onboarding new managed services clients, including discovery, documentation and transition activities

- Maintain accurate technical documentation and environment standards

Projects & Professional Services

- Design and deliver Microsoft Cloud, Infrastructure and Modern Workplace projects

- Lead and participate in Microsoft 365, Azure and cyber security initiatives

- Deliver tenant migrations, cloud transformations and infrastructure modernisation projects

- Deploy and support Microsoft Intune, Entra ID, Conditional Access and Endpoint Management solutions

- Implement Azure services, hybrid infrastructure and cloud-native technologies

- Deliver network, firewall and connectivity solutions

- Implement security projects across customer environments

- Participate in project planning, design workshops, implementation and handover activities

- Ensure projects are delivered to a high standard and aligned with customer requirements

- Collaborate with internal teams to improve delivery standards, processes and customer outcomes

About You

You're an experienced engineer who enjoys the variety of MSP life, balancing project delivery, technical ownership and customer engagement while remaining hands-on with modern Microsoft technologies.

You combine strong technical expertise with excellent communication and customer engagement skills, allowing you to work confidently with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

You have a genuine passion for Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, automation and cyber security, and enjoy solving complex technical challenges. You take pride in designing, implementing and continually improving customer environments while building long-term relationships that deliver real business value.

Most importantly, you're someone who enjoys owning outcomes, taking initiative and becoming a trusted advisor to your clients.

You'll ideally bring:





- 5+ years' experience in a senior engineering, infrastructure, cloud or MSP project delivery role

- Previous experience working within a Managed Services Provider (MSP)

- Demonstrated success delivering infrastructure and cloud projects from planning through to completion

- Strong technical knowledge across:

- Microsoft 365

- Microsoft Azure

- Intune

- Entra ID

- Exchange Online

- SharePoint Online

- Microsoft Teams

- Windows Server

- Virtualisation platforms

- Networking and firewall technologies (preferably Fortinet) (Certifications highly regarded)

- Cyber security best practices

- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

- The ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Relevant Microsoft certifications (highly regarded )
