The Human Resources Manager is responsible for delivering strategic and operational HR support across Australia and Current Zealand. Partnering closely with business leaders, this role drives talent acquisition, employee engagement, performance management, organisational development, compliance, and HR operational excellence to support business objectives and foster a high-performing culture.
Key Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition & Management
- Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract, hire, and retain top talent.
- Manage end-to-end recruitment for key roles, including sourcing, interviewing, onboarding, and offboarding.
- Build strong relationships with recruitment partners and talent networks.
- Lead talent reviews, succession planning, learning and development, and career progression initiatives.
- Support performance management through goal setting, reviews, coaching, probation, and performance improvement processes.
Employee Relations & Compliance
- Provide guidance on employee relations, investigations, grievances, disciplinary matters, and conflict resolution.
- Ensure compliance with Australian and New Zealand employment legislation, company policies, and Work Health & Safety requirements.
- Oversee policy development and updates.
- Conduct workplace visits and WHS audits across ANZ operations.
HR Operations & Payroll
- Oversee the full employee lifecycle from onboarding through to offboarding.
- Maintain HRIS data integrity and employee records.
- Supervise end-to-end payroll for employees across Australia and New Zealand, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing.
- Manage payroll reporting, queries, compensation, and benefits administration.
- Drive continuous improvement of HR systems, policies,
and processes to enhance operational efficiency and employee experience.
Projects & Continuous Improvement
- Lead cross-functional HR projects that support organisational effectiveness and business outcomes.
- Drive employee engagement initiatives and change management activities.
- Partner with regional and global HR teams on talent and business initiatives.
- Support additional HR projects and strategic priorities as required.
HR Business Partnering
- Analyse HR metrics and provide insights to support informed business decisions.
- Manage HR budgets, reporting, surveys, and action plans.
- Serve as a trusted HR advisor, providing expert guidance and support to managers on all people-related matters.
- Partner with Senior Management to deliver workforce planning, organisational effectiveness, and people strategies that support business objectives.
- Lead and implement HR initiatives that enhance employee engagement, organisational capability, and employer brand.
- Use workforce insights and HR data to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement across the business.
About You
- 6–10 years' experience in Human Resources, preferably within retail or a multi-site environment.
- Degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related discipline.
- Strong knowledge of Australian and New Zealand employment legislation, payroll, and HR best practice.
- Demonstrated experience across recruitment, employee relations, performance management, organisational development, and HR operations.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.
