Property and Maintenance Manager (Primary School)

Located in the heart of South Yarra, Christ Church Grammar School is seeking an experienced and proactive Property Manager to lead the effective management, maintenance and presentation of our grounds, buildings and facilities.

This hands‑on role is responsible for ensuring our facilities are safe, functional and aesthetically presented, supporting an exceptional experience for students, staff and the wider school community.

Working closely with the Director of Business, Principal and key stakeholders, you will oversee property maintenance, contractor management, minor/medium capital works, security, cleaning services and facilities operations. You will bring strong organisational skills, practical expertise and a solutions‑focused approach to managing competing priorities in a dynamic school environment.

About the Role

- Oversee the maintenance, presentation and operation of the School’s buildings, grounds, facilities and equipment.
- Manage contractors, maintenance programs and minor capital works projects from planning through to completion.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety, emergency and risk management, essential services and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate cleaning, security and property services to maintain high standards across the School.
- Support School events, operational requirements and facility use by internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide advice, reporting and recommendations on property and maintenance priorities.

About You

You will be a practical and experienced property qualified who:

- Has relevant qualifications and/or extensive and demonstrated experience in facilities, property and/or building maintenance management (experience in a school setting is highly desirable).




- Possesses strong contractor management and project coordination skills.
- Has sound knowledge of building compliance obligations, safety requirements and risk management practices.
- Takes pride in maintaining high standards and creating exceptional environments.
- Has excellent communication skills, including IT with support, and the ability to build positive relationships across the School community.
- Is organised, proactive and able to manage competing priorities with confidence.
