Infrastructure / Pump Crew Fitter | Sojitz Blue - Gregory Mine

Headquartered in Japan, Sojitz Blue is a privately owned Australian mining company that values its people through safety and culture. Sojitz owns and operates two assets within the Southern Bowen Basin, Gregory Crinum Mine Complex and Meteor Downs South Mine.

We are currently seeking an experienced Infrastructure / Pump Crew Fitter to join our Maintenance team. This role is responsible for maintaining critical mine infrastructure and dewatering systems that support the safe and efficient operation of the mine.

About the Role

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability and availability of mine dewatering equipment and associated infrastructure across the operation.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Maintenance, repair and servicing of mine dewatering pumps and pumping systems.
- Installation and maintenance of pipelines, valves, poly pipe, steel pipework and associated infrastructure.
- Fault finding and repair of centrifugal, submersible and diesel-driven pumps.
- Installing, relocating and commissioning pumping systems across the mine as operational requirements change.
- Maintaining pipelines, valves, hoses, couplings and associated water infrastructure.
- Performing preventative maintenance to maximise equipment reliability and minimise downtime.
- Conducting inspections and identifying opportunities to improve equipment performance.




- Conducting inspections and reporting equipment defects.
- Working closely with Operations and Maintenance teams to ensure effective water management across the mine.
- Maintaining accurate maintenance records and complying with site procedures.
- Maintaining a strong commitment to safety and environmental compliance.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

- Mechanical Trade Qualification.
- Experience maintaining mine dewatering systems and site infrastructure within an open cut mining environment.
- Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Experience with pumps, pipelines, valves, hose systems and associated mechanical equipment.
- Ability to work safely in a energetic mining environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Queensland Generic Induction (Standard 11).
- Current Australian Driver's Licence.
