About the Team

The Ellen Barron Family Centre (EBFC) is a state‑wide residential facility that provides services for early parenting support through its parenting education programs. The programs provide services for families with children from birth to 3 years who are referred to the EBFC from primary care service providers or other relevant agencies. The centre is a multidisciplinary environment that specialises in providing relevant health information and education, and the development of strategies and support aimed at addressing immediate concerns and then linking families back into local resources within their own community.

About the Role

The Transition Registered Nurse (TRN) – Identified - at EBFC delivers secure compassionate clinical care, working collaboratively with the Healthcare team to achieve best practice patient outcomes. The TRN engages in reflective, analytical practice through effective assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of direct person‑centred care.



The TRN continually improves their skills and knowledge developing from graduate to highly skilled TRN.

The position of TRN will:

- Utilise foundation knowledge and skills specific to Child Health Nursing.
- Deliver client services for children and young people, individuals and groups, within the context of their family and community.
- Provide clinical and problem‑solving skills in the full scope of child health nursing practice for the 0-3 year age group and their families/carers.
- Practice consistently with nursing professional standards and those of CHQ HHS

Autonomy

- Practice independently and interdependently.
- Assume accountability and responsibility for their own actions and delegation of care to Enrolled nurses, Assistants in Nursing and healthcare workers.
- Demonstrates evidence of increasing autonomy and exercises greater levels of professional judgement in the clinical environment as the employee moves from a beginning to experienced practitioner.
