The Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to join Family Life as a Team Leader working within The Orange DoorBPAandworking across our Family Life sites.The Orange Door Partnershipprovides a free, integrated intake, assessment and referral service for people experiencing family violence, those using violence who want to change their behaviour, and families needing support for the wellbeing and development of children and young people.
The Team Leader provides operational management of a Hub team within the Orange Door which includes managing workloads across theteam, andproviding oversight and guidance to team members. The Team Leader willbe requiredto work collaboratively with 10 multidisciplinary, inter-Agency teams.
Key Responsibility Areas
- Provide home agency leadership, supervision and support to Family Life’s Child Wellbeing Team, and practice leadership to a multidisciplinary integrated team through allocation processes, caseconsultationand performance development.
- Manage task allocation and workflow across the integrated team, balancing strategic and operational priorities, servicedemandand practitioner workload.
- Foster a collaborative, engaged and high-performing team culture.
- Promote and model respectful relationships and contribute to a positive, inclusive, culturallysafeand values-led workplace environment.
- Contribute to quality improvement, reporting and effective service delivery,accountabilityand continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with Orange Door Team Leaders and partner agencies to promote consistent practice, workforcedevelopmentand effective service delivery across the partnership.
- Provide secondary consultation, practice advice, mentoring and training to support staff capability and service quality.
- Ensure compliance with organisational, program, legislative and information-sharing requirements, including case recording,
datamanagementand mandatory reporting obligations.
- Work closely with Victoria Police, Child Protection, Aboriginalservicesand sector stakeholders tomaintainstrong networks, partnerships and referral pathways that support coordinated responses.
- Participate in Team Leader supervision and support practitioner engagement in reflective practice, operationalsupervisionand professional development.
- Ensure the effective identification,managementand escalation of organisational, practice and client risks, including incident reporting requirements.
- Represent Family Life and The Orange Door in relevant meetings,networksand stakeholder engagements.
- Undertake other duties consistent with the position and organisational needs.
Our Ideal Candidate
You are Bachelor qualified in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, FamilyTherapyor a related field and are eligible for membershipof an appropriate professionalassociation. You must also meet the Victorian Government’s Mandatory Minimum Qualifications (MMQ) Policy requirements for specialist family violence practitioners.
You are an experienced and values-driven leader who is passionate about improving outcomes for children, youngpeopleand families. You thrive in collaborative environments and bring strong leadership, practiceknowledgeand relationship-building skills.
