As a Clinical Nurse Educator
- Perioperative (Instrument-Circulating), you'll join a dynamic and supportive team where you'll play a key role in developing the knowledge, skills and confidence of nurses across the perioperative service.
Whether you're an experienced educator or an accomplished Instrument‑Circulating Nurse looking to move into education, you'll be supported to grow your leadership and education capabilities while helping shape the future of perioperative nursing. You'll be supported by an experienced perioperative leadership team and work alongside dedicated Nurse Managers, Clinical Nurse Specialists and fellow educators who are committed to your success. You'll have access to ongoing professional development, education opportunities and mentoring to further develop your skills in clinical education and leadership while helping to build a confident, capable and highly skilled perioperative workforce.
What You Will
Be Doing: As the Clinical Nurse Educator, you will provide clinical education, mentorship and support to nursing staff across the perioperative environment, with a strong focus on Instrument and Circulating practice.
You will: Deliver education and competency‑based training to perioperative nursing staff.
Provide one‑one, "elbow-to-elbow" clinical support for novice and junior nurses in the operating theatre. Facilitate orientation, clinical assessments and ongoing professional development.
Identify learning needs and implement evidence‑based education strategies to build clinical capability.
Promote best practice, patient safety and continuous quality improvement across the perioperative service. Work collaboratively with Nurse Managers, Clinical Nurse Specialists and the multidisciplinary team to foster a positive learning culture.
About you
Our ideal candidate is an experienced Instrument‑Circulating Registered Nurse with a passion for education and supporting others to succeed. You enjoy sharing your knowledge, building confidence in less experienced staff and creating a positive learning environment. You lead by example, communicate effectively and are committed to delivering safe, high‑quality perioperative care.
You will bring: Extensive experience as an Instrument‑Circulating Registered Nurse within a perioperative environment. A collaborative approach and the ability to build positive working relationships across multidisciplinary teams. A passion for mentoring, coaching and developing the perioperative workforce.
Strong communication, organisation and interpersonal skills. A commitment to patient safety, evidence‑based practice and continuous quality improvement. A positive attitude with the ability to embrace change and support a culture of learning, safety and excellence.
Essential Requirements
Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration and holds relevant clinical or education post registration qualifications postgraduate qualification in perioperative nursing or such education and clinical experience deemed appropriate. Demonstrated recent experience in perioperative nursing, with experience in Instrument‑Circulating. Demonstrated ability to educate, mentor or support the development of nursing staff.
Advanced Life Support (ALS) accreditation.

Additional Information
To be eligible for permanent employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, or a permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport.
