**About the role The Staff Specialist or Senior Staff Specialist - General and Acute Medicine provides high-quality, cost-effective and patient-centred clinical care within the Medicine Service at Redcliffe Hospital. The role delivers specialist medical services across a broad range of general medicine activities while contributing to the ongoing development of high-quality healthcare services for the Metro North community.
The successful candidate will participate in inpatient and perioperative medical services, provide consultation and support to multidisciplinary teams, contribute to on-call services and undertake teaching, supervision and quality improvement activities. Candidates with a subspecialty interest and dual qualifications in Endocrinology or Respiratory Medicine will be highly regarded.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
Provide expert general and acute medical services, including inpatient care, perioperative consultation and specialist clinical advice across the health service.
Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, evidence-based and patient-centred care.
Contribute to after-hours and on-call services while supporting safe, effective and responsive healthcare delivery.
Provide education, supervision and mentoring to undergraduate and postgraduate medical trainees, including interns,
registrars and physician trainees.
Participate in research, quality improvement, service development and clinical governance activities that support excellence in patient care and organisational performance.
