Our Biodiversity & Heritage Regulator team is currently taking expressions of interest for a Senior Team Leader, Biodiversity Licensing and Programs (EO12), in the Licensing and Approvals Branch for a five week period.
This is an exciting leadership opportunity to lead a high-performing team responsible for the delivery of biodiversity licensing programs, regulatory policy implementation, strategic project delivery, stakeholder engagement, and operational governance through a period of significant reform. The role manages a geographically dispersed team and works closely with senior leaders, other government agencies, industry stakeholders and community representatives.
About You
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the Biodiversity Licensing and Programs team to deliver high-quality regulatory and program outcomes, while reforming and uplifting the biodiversity management licensing framework.
- Leading input into the government response to the report on the parliamentary inquiry into licences to harm
- Providing strategic advice on biodiversity licensing, regulatory policy and operational matters.
- Preparing executive briefings, submissions, ministerial correspondence and reports.
- Building and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Supporting staff development, performance and wellbeing.
Key knowledge and experience
- Robust leadership and people management experience.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Experience delivering complex programs and projects.
- Sound knowledge of environmental legislation, policy and regulatory frameworks,
particularly the NSW Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016 or similar.
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically, solve complex problems and deliver outcomes in a dynamic environment.
