Residental Support Worker/Administration Assistant
Fixed Monday-Friday Shifts | 6:00am - 2:00pm | Full-Time Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Support Worker with strong administrative skills to join our team at Smith’s Hall Guesthouse, Rozelle.
Smith’s Hall is an assisted boarding house licensed and regulated by the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ), supporting adults primarily with psychosocial disability and/or mental health conditions, as well as other disabilities or conditions such as intellectual disability. The role combines hand-on daily living support with an important administration component.
We are looking for someone who is calm, reliable, organised and professional, with the ability to support residents while also assisting the Operations Manager with the day-to-day running of the house.
About the Role
This role involves supporting up to 30 residents with daily routines, wellbeing, medication support, documentation and general house operations.
Working closely with the Operations Manager, you will help ensure residents are supported, records are maintained, and concerns are escalated appropriately.
The right person will be confident working directly with residents in a residential disability setting and capable of completing documentation and computer-based administration tasks accurately.
Employment Structure & Hours
This position is based at Smith’s Hall Guesthouse in Rozelle and is intended to provide consistent weekday morning coverage.
Monday to Friday
6:00 am to 2:00 pm

Applicants must be genuinely available to work the full weekday shift pattern on an ongoing basis.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities may include:
Supporting residents with daily routines, activities of daily living, personal care, hygiene, wellbeing and independence
Providing respectful support to residents with psychosocial, mental health and intellectual disability
Conducting welfare checks and observing changes in resident presentation, mood, health or behaviour
Assisting with medication support and related documentation in accordance with policy
Supporting a safe, clean, respectful and well-managed residential workplace
Assisting with general house operations, including supplies, safety checks, maintenance reporting and visitor awareness
Completing accurate progress notes, handovers, incident reports and other required documentation
Identifying risks or concerns and escalating them promptly to the Operations Manager or management team
Upholding resident dignity, privacy, choice, rights and confidentiality
Working professionally as part of a residential support team
To be considered for this role, applicants must have:
Minimum 12 months’ hands-on experience supporting adults within disability support, psychosocial support, mental health, aged care, residential care or community services
Confidence working directly with adults in a shared residential support environment
Practical, steady and willing approach to supporting both residents and day-to-day house operations
Ability to complete documentation, incident reporting and handovers accurately
Proficiency in Microsoft applications and confidence completing basic computer-based administration tasks
Strong verbal and written English communication skills
Positive organisation, attention to detail and ability to follow routines, policies and escalation processes
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, while knowing when to seek guidance or escalate concerns
Professional communication with residents, staff, providers and management
Strong professional boundaries, reliability and accountability
Practical, steady and willing approach to supporting both residents and day-to-day house operations
Genuine availability to work 6:00am to 2:00pm from Monday to Friday
This role is not suited to applicants seeking their first support worker position.
