About the role

We are seeking experienced Automotive Spray Painters and Preppers to join our dynamic team at our Moorabbin, VIC location on a full-time basis. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing vehicle surfaces and applying professional-grade finishes to automotive panels. This position is integral to our operations, as the quality of your work directly impacts our reputation and customer satisfaction. You will work on a variety of vehicles, collaborating with our panel technicians and other team members to ensure every vehicle meets our high standards before it leaves our facility.

Key responsibilities

- Prepare vehicle surfaces through sanding, cleaning, and filling to achieve a smooth, paint-ready finish
- Apply primer coats and base/transparent coat finishes using spray equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications
- Inspect finished work for quality, ensuring compliance with industry standards and company specifications
- Follow all health and safety protocols, including proper handling of chemicals and use of personal protective equipment
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, including proper disposal of waste materials

What we’re looking for





- Proven experience as a spray painter or prepper in the automotive industry
- Solid understanding of surface preparation techniques and spray-painting methods
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality finishes
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to spray painting and chemical handling
- Reliable, punctual, and professional approach to work
- Physical fitness to perform tasks involving standing, lifting, and working at various heights
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in spray painting or automotive trades
