We are seeking an experienced Senior Cyber Security Analyst to join a high performing Cyber Operations team responsible for monitoring, detecting and responding to cyber threats across a large and complex enterprise workplace. This is an excellent opportunity for a security professional who enjoys incident response, threat hunting and security operations, and is looking to contribute to the protection of critical systems and networks.

About the Role
/n
As a Senior Cyber Security Analyst, you will be responsible for identifying, investigating and responding to cyber security incidents while supporting the ongoing improvement of security operations capabilities. Working within a collaborative team environment, you will analyse security events, investigate potential threats and provide recommendations to strengthen the organisation's security posture.

Key Responsibilities
/n
/n
- Respond to, investigate and triage cyber security alerts and incidents
/n
- Analyse security logs and events to identify anomalous or suspicious activity
/n
- Perform incident response activities, including containment, remediation and recovery support
/n
- Assist with proactive threat hunting activities
/n
- Collaborate with threat intelligence teams to operationalise threat intelligence
/n
- Recommend security improvements based on investigation outcomes and emerging threats
/n
- Maintain technical documentation, incident records and operational procedures
/n
- Work closely with team members to share knowledge and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
/n/n
Skills & Experience
/n
Essential
/n
/n
- Minimum 2 years' experience working as a Cyber Security Analyst or similar cyber security role
/n
- Hands on experience performing incident response activities
/n
- Strong analytical and problem solving capabilities
/n
- Excellent written communication skills with experience producing and maintaining technical documentation
/n
- Ability to work effectively within a team and contribute to a team-oriented culture
/n
- Current NV1 clearance
/n/n
Desirable
/n
/n
- Experience administering or working with Microsoft Defender XDR
/n
- Experience with Microsoft Defender for Cloud in an enterprise environment
/n
- Experience using Splunk Enterprise Security
/n
- Experience working within Security Operations Centre (SOC) environments
/n
- Threat hunting and cyber threat detection experience
/n/n
Qualifications & Certifications
/n
/n
- Tertiary qualifications in Cyber Security, Information Technology or a related discipline
/n
- Microsoft Security certifications
/n
- Splunk certifications
/n
- CISSP
/n
- GCIH
/n
- GCIA
/n
- Other relevant industry recognised cyber security certifications

Working Arrangements
/n
/n
- Canberra ACT location
/n
- Full time onsite role, 5 days per week in the office
/n
- 40 hours per week
/n
- Remote and interstate working arrangements are not available

- Initial 12 month contract with 2 x 12 month extension options

- Expected commencement in August 2026
