The Role

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Security & Facilities Officer to step into a dual-focus role that is critical to our operational integrity. Reporting directly to the Managing Director—with a dotted line to the Board on security matters—you will oversee both Defence Security compliance and physical site facilities across our Australian locations (including Port Melbourne, Essendon Fields, Canberra, and WA).

This is a dynamic, high-visibility role where you will act as the key conduit between external agencies, corporate headquarters, and internal operational teams to ensure our spaces remain safe, compliant, and fully operational.

Key Responsibilities

Defence & Physical Security

- Compliance & Frameworks: Maintain 100% compliance with DISP requirements and Australian Government PSPF standards.
- Vetting & Registers: Act as the representative Security Officer, ISSO, and Cryptographic Custodian, managing AGSVA security clearance registers (Baseline to PV).
- Risk & Reporting: Own, construct, and present regular facility and security reporting packs to executive stakeholders and the Board.
- Trade Compliance: Partner with our Trade Compliance Specialist to manage Controlled Cryptographic Items (CCI) in line with international regulations.

Facilities & Site Coordination

- Contractor Management: Oversee external vendors (HVAC, electrical, cleaning) ensuring they are fully vetted, safe,

and inducted.
- Asset Maintenance: Coordinate regular servicing, repair, and logging of embedded plant and equipment.
- Landlord Interface: Manage maintenance logs, lease schedules, and property development support.
- Site Safety: Lead site evacuations, safety drills, toolbox talks, and manage card access systems.

What We Are Looking For

To be successful in this role, you will bring a balanced mix of technical security expertise and hands-on facility management experience.

Qualifications & Clearances

- Security Clearance: Must currently hold, or be eligible to hold, an AGSVA Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) clearance.
- Education: A relevant Security Management/Business Diploma or Bachelor-level qualification.
- Background: Clear National Police History Check, or ability to obtain.

Experience & Skills

- 3–5+ years of experience in a similar multi-site facility or security role, preferably within a manufacturing or defence environment.
- Detailed understanding of the Information Security Manual (ISM), DSPF, and PSPF.
- Prior experience as an Authorised Defence Security Officer for a DISP organisation is highly regarded.
- Strong experience managing technical contractors (HVAC, electrical, etc.).
- Superb stakeholder management skills—you are personable, clear in your communication, and can work under pressure to tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite; familiarity with SAP order systems is a plus.

This is a fantastic opportunity to build a long-term career with an organisation that actively rewards success and supports your career development.
