Lucid Building Automation is seeking an experienced BMS Service Technician to join our growing Melbourne team.
Founded in 2024, Lucid is a technically driven building automation company delivering practical, well-built control systems across commercial offices, education, councils and critical environments. Our focus is on performance, clarity and long-term value, not short-term fixes or temporary workarounds.
We invest heavily in training, structure and technical standards so our systems, and our people, are built properly from day one.
About the Role
This is a hands-on technical role combining service, fault-finding, optimisation and small works across a diverse portfolio of Melbourne sites.
You will be trusted to understand how systems should operate and to improve them where they don’t.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and resolve BMS and HVAC control issues
- Review, refine and optimise control strategies to improve plant performance
- Carry out minor upgrades, system modifications and improvements
- Integrate mechanical plant via BACnet, Modbus and IP networks
- Work with Tridium Niagara (AX and N4) platforms
- Provide remote support and in office technical assistance
- Prepare clear, professional service reports
- Communicate directly with clients and site teams
This is not a reactive-only service role.
A core part of the position involves understanding how systems should operate and making practical improvements that reduce energy use and improve reliability.
About You
You are technically capable, structured in your thinking, and comfortable working independently, while being part of a supportive and capable team.
You will have:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in BMS / building automation
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Experience with Tridium Niagara (preferred)
- Solid understanding of HVAC plant and mechanical systems
- Familiarity with BACnet and Modbus
- Electrical, HVAC or relevant technical background
- Current Australian driver’s licence
You can explain technical issues in clear, practical terms, value clean logic, and take pride in delivering reliable outcomes for clients.
What We Offer
- Competitive salary package
- Rostered Day Off (RDO)
- Company vehicle
- Laptop and mobile phone
- Ongoing technical development and upskilling
- Flexible working arrangements where suitable
- A small, capable team that values quality, not shortcuts
If you are a problem solver seeking a stable role in a team that values learning, strong technical standards and meaningful outcomes, we would welcome the opportunity to talk.
