About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Horticulturist/Gardener to join the team at Jesse Mauger Horticulture. This is a full-time position based in Robertson, NSW 2577. In this role, you will be responsible for the cultivation, maintenance, and care of plants and gardens, ensuring they thrive and flourish. You will play a vital part in delivering high-quality horticultural services to our clients, contributing to the aesthetic and environmental value of the spaces we work with. This position offers the opportunity to work outdoors, utilise your horticultural expertise, and make a tangible impact on the landscapes you help create and maintain.

Key responsibilities

- Planting, cultivating, and maintaining a wide variety of plants, trees, and shrubs in gardens and landscaped areas

- Performing regular garden maintenance tasks including weeding, pruning, trimming, and deadheading

- Preparing soil and applying appropriate fertilisers and soil amendments to promote plant health

- Operating and maintaining gardening equipment and tools safely and effectively

- Watering plants and implementing irrigation systems as required

- Identifying and treating plant diseases, pests, and other horticultural issues

- Following best practices in horticulture and adhering to health and safety standards

- Collaborating with team members and clients to understand project requirements and deliver exceptional results

- Maintaining accurate records of work completed and plant care schedules

What we're looking for

- Formal qualifications in horticulture, landscaping, or a related horticultural discipline, or demonstrable experience working in gardening and landscaping

- Proven experience in landscape maintenance

- Strong knowledge of plant species, growing conditions, seasonal planting, and pest management





- Proficiency with hand tools and mechanical gardening equipment

- Physical fitness and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions

- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship

- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team

- A genuine passion for horticulture and plants

- Current driving licence is preferred to enable travel to various project sites

- Willingness to continuously learn and develop your horticultural knowledge and skills
