We are seeking a proactive Quality Officer to join our client's Quality team, supporting the delivery of high-quality products through strong quality assurance, quality control and compliance practices. Working closely with the Quality Lead, you'll play a key role in maintaining product quality, supporting production, conducting testing, and ensuring compliance with GMP and the Quality Management System.

About the Role
As a Quality Officer, you'll assist in ensuring that all raw materials, production processes, finished goods and dispatched products consistently meet quality standards and customer expectations.
You'll work closely with Production, Warehouse and Technical teams, helping maintain quality documentation, performing inspections and testing, and supporting audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor production lines and compounding areas to ensure products are manufactured to specification and production documentation is completed accurately.
- Perform quality inspections at the start, end and throughout production runs to ensure finished goods meet required standards.
- Organise, extract and maintain retention samples for all production batches.
- Print and prepare product barcode labels in conjunction with the Production Planning team.
- Maintain and update Product Information Sheets (product dossiers), ensuring documentation is accurate before production commences.
- Inspect, sample, record, label and approve incoming raw materials and packaging.
- Verify packaging materials against approved master artwork before release to production.
- Liaise professionally with suppliers regarding out-of-specification raw materials or packaging to achieve timely resolutions.
- Conduct microbiological and stability testing on products, raw materials, retention samples and equipment as required.
- Perform routine calibration and verification of quality testing equipment including pH meters, viscometers, weighing scales and metal detectors (training provided).
- Assist with customer complaint investigations and prepare CAPA, NCR and deviation documentation where required.
- Support internal audits, supplier audits and certification audits alongside the Quality Manager.
- Assist with staff quality training and promote GMP compliance throughout the site.
- Maintain high standards of workplace safety and housekeeping within the Quality function.
About You
We're looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Quality Officer who takes pride in maintaining high standards and enjoys working in a hands-on manufacturing environment. You'll be a confident communicator with a strong understanding of GMP and quality systems, eager to learn, solve problems and contribute to continuous improvement across the business.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- At least 1 year's experience within an FMCG or manufacturing quality environment.
- Understanding of Quality Assurance and Quality Control principles.
- Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Positive Laboratory Practices (GLP).
- Experience working with quality documentation, inspections and testing procedures.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and investigate quality issues.
- Excellent communication skills with the confidence to work collaboratively across Production, Warehouse and Technical teams.
- Ability to communicate quality standards clearly and professionally to colleagues and suppliers.
- A Bachelor's degree in Science or a related STEM discipline will be highly regarded.
