About the Role

Invoicing & Billing Specialist – Port Botany, NSW, Full Time. The role reports to the Customer Service & Logistics Manager and focuses on end‑to‑end Order‑to‑Cash (O2C) billing for our Sydney and Darwin terminals. It requires ownership of billing execution, bridging operational data with accurate financial records, and ensuring seamless cash flow.

What You’ll Be Doing
Define and implement O2C workflows, capture operational data structures, draft SOPs, and upskill the Customer Service team.
Interpret complex commercial agreements (tiered fees, volume thresholds, penalty clauses) to create accurate, timely customer invoices.
Investigate and resolve historical billing variances, audit legacy accounts, and conduct root‑cause analysis on systemic data gaps.
Serve as the single point of contact for customer billing inquiries, collaborating with Finance, Commercial Account Managers, and Terminal Operations.
Standardize data flows, maintain audit trails, and ensure 100% adherence to internal controls and segregation of duties.

What We’re Looking For

Experience: 3–5 years in complex commercial billing, large‑scale financial reconciliations, or O2C functions.



Prior experience in asset‑heavy, quick‑paced industries such as bulk logistics, oil & gas, terminal operations, supply chain, or heavy industrial sectors is highly desirable.

Contract Literacy

Robust capability to digest dense commercial contracts and configure complex pricing frameworks accurately.

Tech & Data Savvy

Advanced MS Excel skills (Pivot Tables, data manipulation) and practical experience with enterprise ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or specialized Terminal Management Systems).

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, Accounting, Logistics, or a related discipline (or equivalent practical industry experience).

• Highly analytical, meticulous, proactive problem‑solving attitude, and exceptional communication skills.
