Infrastructure Portfolio Management Officer (Capability)

A large Queensland Government department is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Portfolio Management Officer to join its Portfolio Management Office and play a key role in uplifting project and portfolio management capability across a significant infrastructure portfolio valued at approximately $2 billion annually.

/n

This is an chance to work at the centre of large-scale infrastructure investment, helping establish best-practice project delivery frameworks, governance approaches, capability programs and continuous improvement initiatives.

About the Role

/n

/n
Develop and improve portfolio and project management frameworks, methodologies and tools

/n
Drive capability uplift initiatives, including training, coaching and communities of practice

/n
Facilitate lessons learned and knowledge management activities

/n
Support assurance reviews, maturity assessments and governance improvements

/n
Analyse portfolio performance and identify opportunities to improve delivery outcomes

/n




Influence stakeholders and embed consistent project delivery practices across the organisation

About You

/n

/n
Solid experience in portfolio management, program management or project delivery

/n
Experience within infrastructure, capital works, asset-intensive or complex delivery environments

/n
Expertise in project methodologies such as PMBOK, PRINCE2, MSP or similar

/n
Experience leading capability uplift, enablement or continuous improvement initiatives

/n
Exceptional stakeholder engagement, facilitation and communication skills

/n
The ability to influence change and drive adoption of new ways of working

/n/n

Highly Regarded

/n

/n
Government, transport, utilities, health or similar sector experience

/n
PRINCE2, MSP, P3O or Lean/Six Sigma certifications

/n
Experience with project reporting and portfolio tools such as Power BI, Share Point, MS Project and Excel

/n/n

This role would suit a PMO Lead, Portfolio Analyst, Portfolio Coordinator, Project Capability Lead or Project Management skilled looking to move into a role focused on capability, governance and continuous improvement.
