About the Role
Auriga is seeking expressions of interest from fully qualified Marine Pilots, to support pilotage operations across thePort of MelbourneandPort of Geelong.
This role is suited to experienced pilots with proven capability in confined waters navigation, complex ship handling and multi-terminal operations.
You will work alongside a professional team committed to delivering safe, efficient and reliable pilotage services within one of Australia's busiest port environments.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct safe and efficient pilotage operations
Ensure sufficient current passage plans are available
Maintain compliance with all marine safety and regulatory requirements
Work collaboratively with port stakeholders and vessel crews
Provide leadership and clear direction to the Bridge Management Team
Perform duties with the required skills, care and attention in ensuring the safe passage of a ship under their pilotage
Promote Auriga Group's strong safety culture and operational standards
About You
Essential Qualifications & Experience
Marine Pilot Licence (or recognised equivalent).
Marine Pilot Licences for the Port of Melbourne and Port of Geelong.
Current Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC).
Current Australian Driver Licence.
Permanent Australian residency or valid Australian work rights.
Minimum 2–3 years' experience as a Marine Pilot within a commercial port environment.
Strong situational awareness and excellent communication skills within high-traffic, multi-terminal operating environments.
Ability to work a 24/7 rotating roster, including responding to operational requirements at short notice.
Current AMSA medical (or willingness to obtain).
Experience operating within Victorian waters, including Port Phillip Bay, Geelong and Western Port.
Current Check Pilot endorsement/licence.
Experience with tug utilisation, escort operations and complex berthing manoeuvres.
Strong understanding of contemporary safety, governance and risk management frameworks.
Demonstrated ability to mentor junior pilots and contribute to continuous operational improvement.
