About the Program
The Aboriginal Family Preservation program provides supports to vulnerable Aboriginal families with children 0-17.
Keeping children and young people at home secure with their families is the primary objective of the Aboriginal family preservation program, preventing Aboriginal children and young people from entering the care system as well as reducing any future contact with child protection services.
About the Role
4 x Positions Available
Full Time- 38 hours per week
Offices located at Cardiff, East Maitland and Singleton
The Aboriginal Family Worker is responsible for providing case management and support to achieve outcomes for families with children and young people who are at risk of entering the Out of Home Care system.
Aboriginal Family Workers will work with Aboriginal children, young people and families with a targeted focus on reducing the risk for the family.
Aboriginal Family Worker will work therapeutically with a maximum of 10 families at any given time, modelling a culture of respect and empowerment to establish and maintain stability and safety for the children and family.




In this role you will be responsible for:
Deliver a high level of Case Management and support to achieve family lead decisions and outcomes
Identify , engage and facilitate and activities or groups to benefit Family relationships, parenting and household management, behavior management and child development

Location
While the Aboriginal Family Preservation Programs covers the Hunter and Upper Hunter Region for program delivery, the successful application has the flexibility to work across Muloobinba's Cardiff, East Maitland and Singleton Offices.
Remuneration
A remuneration package will be paid in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award, with the annual salary ranging from $*****K plus superannuation, leave loading, and salary sacrifice on commencement.
Full salary packaging is offered through Community Business Bureau.
Salary is based on experience and qualifications, and wages can be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Confirmation of Aboriginality
Working with Children Check Clearance
Current Driver's License
Participation in an on-call rotating roster
COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate (minimum of 2 doses)
Aboriginality is a genuine qualification and is authorised under Section 14 of the Anti-Discrimination Act ****.
This position is classified as child-related employment and is subject to relevant employment screening.
